ยท To R. H. Horne, writer : 1 autograph letter signed ; 8 Oct 1870 (MISC 2117), speaking of her husband's death : "... I wept bitterly over the times so [illegible] brought before me, sorrowfully explaining with Charles Lamb, 'All, all are gone, the old familiar faces...'" She commends Horne's recent article in Macmillan's and regrets that she cannot help him with his poems. The letter is on mourning stationery.
